New Library Hours
Attention Students — The Jaguar Library is now open from 6:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for research activities. If you want to come to the library before 6:45 a.m., please get a pass from Mrs. Carter or Mrs. Ewing the day before you plan to stop in.
Freshman Boys Basketball Team Undefeated!
Congratulations to the Freshman Boys Basketball Team for winning the Shelby County Championship last night. They defeated Bartlett 65-62, and ended their season with a record of 22-0. The team members are: Jalne Jones, Terik Hill, Brenton Frederick, Corey Franklin, Darius Paige, Darious Paige, Denzel Hardy, Richard Morgan, Donovan Humphries, Emmanual Jeffries, Derrick Bynum, and Raul Aguilar. The Varsity Boys will play Elliston tonight at 6:00 p.m. Go Jaguars!!
Freshman Lady Jaguars Undefeated!
Congratulations to our Freshman Lady Jaguars. They are the 2007-2008 undefeated Shelby County Champions. Last night they defeated the Houston Mustangs 32-21 in the championship game of the Shelby County Freshman Tournament. The All-Tournament players are Shapelle Patterson and Alexus Perry, and your 2007-2008 Lady Jaguars MVP is Mil’Tonique Williams. They completed the season with a record of 12 and 0. Go Jaguars!!
Bridge Builders
There will be an informational meeting for any 10th grader interested in Bridge Builders, a leadership organization. We will meet on Tuesday, February 12th, in Room 106 at 2:07 p.m. Please see Ms. Prater or Ms. Grabias if you have questions.
French Club Candy-Grams
The French Club will be selling Candy-Grams in the cafeteria during lunch on Wednesday, February 6th through Friday, February 8th. For $3.00, you can give a special Valentine to a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, or even your favorite teacher! Each candy-gram will be a bag of Valentines’ Day candy and treats, along with a special note from you. They will be delivered to students at the end of sixth period on Valentine’s Day. Proceeds will be donated to MercyCorps, an organization dedicated to giving food and medical supplies to children in need around the world. Don’t miss this chance to help a good cause and give a great gift at the same time.
Cheerleading Tryouts
All students interested in trying out for the 2008-2009 Varsity Cheerleading Squad must attend the mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Packets will be distributed at this time ONLY – no exceptions. Please see Ms. Collins in Room G230 or Ms. B. Johnson in Room A227 for more information.
FCCLA Service Project
Please help FCCLA by bringing in travel-sized toiletries. These will be taken to nursing home residents for Valentine’s Day. Items needed include travel-sized deoderants, cologne/perfume, hand sanitizer, tissues, and socks. You can also bring in hand-made Valentine’s cards. Please bring your donation to Mrs. Cerbu or Mrs. Boggan in room 133 or 135 by February 8th. Thank you.
